I love Halloween! It’s become one of my favorite holidays; the only time during the year when US society basically says “Hey, dress up in whatever you want, you won’t get judged!” And talk about wild, check out all the similarities it has with the ancient pagan holiday Samhain!

So in honor of Samhain, I mean Halloween, here are some of my Hallows’ Eve parade photos!

Village Halloween Parade 2013:

Here’s the gear I used (to the best of my recollection):
The Canon 5D Mark II
Canon 50mm f1.4 Lens
Fotodiox Nikon to Canon EF lens adapter
Nikon 80mm-200mm f4 AIS Lens
Nikon 28mm f2.8 AIS Lens
Post-processing: Photoshop, Lightroom, Alien Skin Exposure

Tip: Stick around AFTER the parade for some great photo ops with costumed revellers! Or head over to the Webster Hall to their annual Webster Hell Afterparty, where I hear you can see tons of costumes!

West Hollywood Halloween Parade 2006:

Gear:
Canon PowerShot A510

TIP: LA is a total riot. People were funny AND creative! LA is the only place that can claim a more entertaining parade than, yes I’m gonna say it, New York City! If you’re in LA, you have to go!

So grab your camera and I’ll see you at the Village Halloween Parade!
