I just got back to NYC from a New Year’s Trip up to Montréal, Canada. It was a blast (and VERY COLD!).

If you go, you absolutely must visit the Notre-Dame Basilica of Montréal. My jaw dropped in awe as I walked through the door and saw the ornate altar. It’s breathtaking. It’s the most complex, colorful and staggering alter I’ve ever seen! Although I took many photos inside the church, the best way to see it is to go in person.

The organ inside looked very gothic:

Another feature inside the church was the bounty of religious paintings and stained glass. And the first time I’ve ever seen native americans featured in stained glass.

The trip was fantastic, however I would recommend going up in the warmer months!

I shot these photos using my Canon 5D Mark II with the Nikon 28mm and 35mm lenses.

Rock on!
