6-25-15 My current projects – DP, comedy writing, and photography!

Hey Gang!

After an awesome weekend away in beautiful Massachusetts, my girlfriend and I almost got trampled to death on Monday night, waiting for Ghostbusters to start in Bryant Park. You can see why it was so insane in the video from that night (above). We were at the back path of the green and a bunch of people walked right across our picnic blankets… in their shoes… without saying anything to us! It was a pretty awful scene of overcrowding. Luckily, at the end of it, we revived and got to see some of Ghostbusters!

My awesome girlfriend took me to BookCon today as an early birthday present! At the end of the day, we were able to get into the panel that I was most looking forward to: a discussion with Brandon Stanton of Humans of New York moderated by WNYC’s Manoush Zomorodi.

Amazingly, I was able to get Brandon’s advice about a fundamental street photography issue that’s been bothering me for years!

Happy Friday!

There’s been a lot of exciting stuff going on for me this past week!

I’m super excited to say that I just received some great film from Kodak for my next photo shoot!

I’ll also be shooting two 35mm test rolls with my new used Nikon F3HP and I will also be testing a new used Polaroid Colorpack II instant camera this weekend! And I’ve also been researching… Zines (more on that later).

5-18-15 Cheapest Photo Processing in New York City?

Accurate Photo - Cheapest Film Processing in NYC? photo IMG_0154_zpssom2iwae.jpg

I hope you all had a great weekend! New York City has become humid and sticky. Arg!

Over the weekend, I went to get a roll of 35mm film processed, which I shot with my Panaview Opti-Wide panoramic camera. And my local film shop wasn’t there anymore! I began to freak out. Luckily, I saw a little sign with their new location. It was then that I began to appreciate that they’re probably the cheapest place to process 35mm in all of New York City! I walked right over and there they were. Thank the Lord!

Hey Readers!

I’m totally riding the analog 35mm film wave! Since I’m arranging to shoot real 35mm film soon (Kodak film), I decided it was time to get a real, professional 35mm camera! Some of you may remember I ordered a Nikon FE last year to test. I had to return it when I realized I needed something better: the Nikon F3HP. This week, I spent additional hours of research online to make sure it was the best bet (and most affordable option), and finally decided it was time to buy. That way, I can use the F3HP body with my old school Nikon AI and AIS lenses!
