3-27-15 Big Data Sells Out The Bowery Ballroom 3/24/15
Big Data were energized when they hit the sold out Bowery Ballroom Tuesday night in support of their new album “Big Data 2.0”. After opening band On An On played a pretty Shoegaze inspired set, Alan Wilkis (aka “Mr. Big Data”) and his band set up their own equipment: that’s pretty cool to see from a popular band! Then a feminine robotic voice (a la SIRI) came on the loudspeaker and said it would now take all our smartphones and sell our personal data back to us at the merch table. Big Data’s social satire was great!
3-19-15 Whiskey-Sipping ElectroGoth Torch Singer Hannah Cohen Melts The Standard East Penthouse on 3-16-15
If you liked Lana Del Rey’s first album, you’re going to love Hannah Cohen! There was suspense and expectation in the air Monday night at The Standard: East Village Penthouse. Surrounded by a nearly 360 degree outside terrace, it was an awesome space! The room soon packed and I was lucky enough to be in the front row. Ms. Cohen was there to sing songs in support of her new album “PLEASURE BOY” which will be on sale from label Bella Union on March 31st. Here’s a link to the first single from the album: “Keepsake”.

I met Bob of Cherry S/T and Keep Me Conscious while directing my music video for their song “Greatest Disaster” (below) which went on to premiere at the Coney Island Film Festival. From there it went to television for several months playing on Music Choice’s video on demand:

I recently purchased a collection of 35mm film negatives shot by US Navy sailor David M. Anderson during his time aboard the USS Enterprise US Aircraft Carrier in 1978. The Enterprise was not only the longest in the world, but also nuclear powered! I’ve come to realize what an inspiring photographer Mr Anderson was and so I’d like to share more of his photography with you. I scanned the negatives using my Epson Perfection v600 Photo scanner.
1-23-15 I Marched in the 4 Mile March NYC Against Police Brutality on The Martin Luther King Day 2015
Angered by Eric Garner’s wrongful death at the hands of rogue NYPD officer Daniel Pantaleo, I headed to a march against police brutality on Martin Luther King Day. We made it to Union Square around 2:30pm where several people were speaking before there was a four minute “Die In”. We all lay down on the sidewalk and someone nearby sang what sounded like an old spiritual, while people repeated “I can’t breathe” and others counted off up to 11 only to start again at 1. I joined in, saying “I can’t breathe” over and over. And that’s when I truly realized how many times Eric Garner said he couldn’t breathe. And Office Pantaleo didn’t listen to him. What a disgrace.

I’m very excited about a collection of 35mm slides I just won on eBay. They were taken by a sailor named David M. Anderson who served aboard the USS Enterprise in 1978. For those unfamiliar with the first nuclear powered aircraft carrier, check out the USS Enterprise Wiki.

About a month ago, my girlfriend and I visited Brooklyn’s BuildItGreenNYC where I bought this Panaview OPTI-Wide 35mm film camera for $1, really hoping it would work. Bright yellow, all plastic and fully mechanical (no batteries needed!), this camera definitely snagged my attention. I thought about how my Dad shot panoramic photos of the Grand Canyon when my family visited back in the summer of 1995. Radical! Now I just had to shoot a test roll and see if it worked…
