About a month ago, my girlfriend and I visited Brooklyn’s BuildItGreenNYC where I bought this Panaview OPTI-Wide 35mm film camera for $1, really hoping it would work. Bright yellow, all plastic and fully mechanical (no batteries needed!), this camera definitely snagged my attention. I thought about how my Dad shot panoramic photos of the Grand Canyon when my family visited back in the summer of 1995. Radical! Now I just had to shoot a test roll and see if it worked…

I’m FINALLY getting around to explaining why, after all my research, I decided to return my awesome mobile Rollei 35 travel camera. It was a beautiful machine, the black version.

It’s a totally portable 35mm film travel camera and amazing small. I was really excited to get it. However, after shooting two test rolls of film, I discovered it has it’s drawbacks…

Last week I had the pleasure of attending my friend Marguerite Van Cook‘s book signing at St Marks Bookstore. Her latest book The Late Child is a generational autobiography, which means it stories from both her Mother’s and her lives. It’s wonderfully illustrated by James Romberger, Marguerite’s husband and also a friend of mine. Both my friends are awesome artists and if you haven’t yet seen their work, check them out, you won’t be sorry!
