Hey everyone! I hope your week was great! New York City has been beset by intense heat and humidity. Despite that, I’ve continued experimenting with my used FujiFilm x100 (I’ll blog about that again soon). In the meantime, here’s some new music for you! Have a great weekend! Gabriel
Hey everyone! I hope you all had wonderful weekends. I’m still getting used to using my used FujiFilm x100 camera. I’ve already posted several test photos to my Instagram, but thought I’d share them both here so you can see several examples. I’ll post again with more impressions of the camera once I’ve used it more. For now, I’m experimenting with trying to get a TriX “look” out of the camera. Have a great week!
Hey everyone,
This week, I’m testing a new old Fujifilm X100 camera I ordered from Unique Photo in NJ. It arrived yesterday and I’m very excited. I have 7 days to test it out. So that’s what I’m up to this week!
I’ll post the results of my tests soon and in the meantime, I hope you all have a great week!
Cheers!
Gabriel
Recently, I had the chance to meet director, sculptor and fine artist Jim Mckenzie in SoHo. We first got in touch on Instagram about a year ago when I saw photos of his bright, colorful, fanciful art with it’s touch of melancholy. When we met in person, I immediately noticed his eyes. They were full of mirth and energy. I’d even say he has, “laughing eyes”.
Sometimes I only get the opportunity to learn about a photographer on the day he or she passes away. It’s a weird experience – discovering an artist’s life work because of their obituary. I’m both elated to learn about an artist I never knew existed, and at the same time, I feel sad I never knew about them when they were walking the Earth.
Thanks to BB Gun Press I was lucky enough to be at the sold out launch of Kristin Kontrol‘s summer tour at Baby’s All Right. Starchild opened the show- a charismatic musician paying homage to Prince. Next, Kristin Kontrol took the stage and the crowd buzzed with excitement. Lead singer Dee Dee (of Dum Dum Girls fame) was dressed in a silver space outfit and held the audience in the palm of her hand for the duration of the show. During breaks in songs, there was even silence as the audience marveled at Dee Dee. This is her first project after the end of the Dum Dum Girls.
