In August 2017, when this blog was listed number one on Google Search for the keywords “writer photographer nyc”, it was hacked. My hosting service went on high alert and yanked it behind a password protected firewall. Next, they emailed me rescue instructions: complex steps to search and destroy the malware sitting somewhere on my site thanks to an Evil Hacker. But with all the life events going on, I simply could not get those steps started.
Hey readers! Sorry it’s been several weeks since my last post. There’s been so much going on, the best of which is: I’m getting married in June! I’ve also been writing a short ghost story to submit to a British ghost story anthology. And the deadline is in seven days. So there’s been a lot going on, thanks for bearing with me!
Hey Gang, what a week! I’m sorry I haven’t been posting much, I’ve had my hands very full lately.
On a recent trip up to Massachusetts, I was talking with my parents about all the wonderful and energetic people we knew who had passed on and how they would be remembered. Then I realized my very question was probably why ballads were written and stories of old were told about certain individuals: so their personalities and deeds would not be lost to death.
Thanks so much to all of you for your subscriptions to my blog. You are keeping it number one on Google Search!
Some thoughts on Skeleton Crew by Stephen King
Two weeks ago, I finished Stephen King’s epic short story anthology “Skeleton Crew”. While I found the book uneven at times (some of the story endings were not as good as the stories themselves), I really enjoyed his descriptions of New England (where I’m from). His descriptive powers are awesome, especially when it comes to describing nature. I also enjoyed the atmosphere King builds through almost over-describing everything. Often he’ll drift off topic, which can be frustrating, but maybe that’s what makes his stories stand out. It felt as if he was speaking to me in person!
Thanks so much for all your support – I’ve seen so many subscriptions roll in the last couple weeks and I really appreciate it. For those of you just finding my blog for the first time, you can subscribe using wordpress or explore the sharing options which appear below each of my posts. Needless to say, I just really appreciate your attention as Google search continues to list my blog very favorably!
Hey readers – sorry I’ve been AWOL for 6 days! Things are hectic with the holidays approaching and I got sick too!
Anyway, I wanted to share the above collection of science fiction book covers I’ve been pinning together on Pinterest. I can’t get over how awesome they are. And there are so many! Very inspiring for writing, I think.
You can scroll down in the board above to see more science fiction covers.
Hey readers! I am very pleased to announce I was just given my own Goodreads author page! I’m very excited. My first short ghost story will be published in the upcoming anthology O Horrid Night. Special thanks to FunDead Publishing for accepting my short story and making this possible!
