12-22-14 Thoughts on Making Art in New York City
12-19-14 Why I decided to return my Beautiful Black Rollei 35 Travel Camera

I’m FINALLY getting around to explaining why, after all my research, I decided to return my awesome mobile Rollei 35 travel camera. It was a beautiful machine, the black version.
It’s a totally portable 35mm film travel camera and amazing small. I was really excited to get it. However, after shooting two test rolls of film, I discovered it has it’s drawbacks…

12-15-14 Marguerite Van Cook’s book signing of The Late Child, illustrated by James Romberger
Last week I had the pleasure of attending my friend Marguerite Van Cook‘s book signing at St Marks Bookstore. Her latest book The Late Child is a generational autobiography, which means it stories from both her Mother’s and her lives. It’s wonderfully illustrated by James Romberger, Marguerite’s husband and also a friend of mine. Both my friends are awesome artists and if you haven’t yet seen their work, check them out, you won’t be sorry!
The Thurston Moore Band Blasts through my earplugs at Webster Hall’s Marlin Room on 12-11-14

The Scene at Webster Hall
When I arrived at Webster Hall, the crowd was upbeat and conversational despite having had to wait awhile outside in the December air! Tonight, Thurston Moore, the Godfather of Grunge, was going to play songs from his latest album THE BEST DAY.

Good news! I’ve now successfully installed Photoshop CS6 and Lightroom 5 onto my new Best Buy open-box MacBook Air 13″ (Early 2014). I bought it on Black Friday. And both programs open really fast. I had to get on the horn to Apple to get my free iLife download, but it all worked out nicely. For the record, I’m running OSX 10.9.5. And I’m now awaiting a case I ordered.

11-3-14 Subway Poetry

By random chance, I was on my commute and a woman nearby seemed intrigued I was writing. She asked if I was in the Arts and when I said I was, she introduced herself. Madeline Schwartzman is a writer/filmmaker who runs 365 Day Subway: Poems By New Yorkers. What makes her site different, is she approaches a complete stranger whilst on her subway commute, and asks them to write a poem. The result joins an impressive array of poems from everyday New Yorkers on
